I suppose it was because of nearly universal criticism of mega understeer that Audi had finally decided to re-engineer the engine and gearbox placement of the A4. The wheels are now at least 8cm forward compared to the earlier setup and this equates to better handling as well steering feel. The car does not drive like you were sitting just slightly behind an arrow's head in flight. You actually have a car in which does not fight the laws of physics all the time unlike the earlier versions.

This time it feels like you're driving a front wheel drive car with a normal transverse engine instead of a longitudinally placed one (even though it is still longitudinally placed). Imagine driving a slightly larger Honda Civic (in terms of nippiness). This is the first 4 door front wheel drive Audi ever that behaves decently well.

The exterior dimensions will depend upon the trim levels, which is the version or level of a car's model. The 2008 Audi A6 sedan is available in both 3.2 and 4.2 trim levels, while the wagon is only available in 3.2. Some of the standard features of the 3.2 sedan are 18 inch alloy wheels, wood interior trim, dual, automatic climate controls, and a 10 speaker stereo system. The Avant wagon has the same standard features but with an added sunroof.

Interior Design

An attractive feature that's standard with all A6 sedans or wagons is the Multi Media Interface (MMI) management system. Using a 7 inch LCD display and a controller that resembles a computer mouse, the system controls the vehicle's communication, entertainment, and its optional navigational functions.

Some other interior features that are standard with the A6 are air conditioning, CD player, power windows, seats, and door locks, and leather seating for five people.

The interior color choices for the A6 depend upon the exterior color and include Amaretto, Black, Cardomom Beige, or Light Gray leather.

New Features and Options for 2008

Beginning in 2008, every Audi A6 sedan will come standard with the past year's "S line," a previously optional exterior trim package, as well as the interior package that features a sportier cabin trim, along with a "lane departure" warning system. Confirmed prices for the new A6 are excellent value for money; for the 2.0l model of the standard A6 you'll only need to pay £34,355 which keeps it firmly in line with that of its competitor the BMW 5 series. Don't underestimate the size of the engine either, as the 2.0l still has more than enough grunt at 177bhp to get you where you want with time to spare. Not to mention the cheerfully low emission output of only 129 g/km that should make saving up for your next luxury purchase a lot easier. This is definitely shaping up to be a great purchase for any businessman who wants a high performance sports car that doesn't compromise on quality and luxury. Offering a healthy number of engines at launch and with a choice of diesel of petrol, there should be something for everybody. Put this on your list as its one to watch out for without doubt.
